Bangladesh Olympic football team are set to begin their Asian Games 2023 campaign against Myanmar in China Tuesday, four days before the official inauguration of the largest continental multi-sports show.
The match between the two sides in the opening round of the men’s football event is scheduled to kick off at Xiaoshan Sports Center Stadium in Hangzhou at 2pm Bangladesh time.
National team’s Spanish head coach Javier Cabrera is guiding the Olympic team where all players are Under-23 except three senior footballers, including captain and defender Rahmat Mia.
The men in red and green will face India Thursday before playing against hosts China three days later at the same venue.
The 19th edition of the Asiad will officially get underway Saturday, a day after Bangladesh women’s cricket team begin their campaign playing directly in the quarter-finals.
A total of 180 athletes from Bangladesh will be competing in the Asian Games in 17 sports disciplines.
