Bangladesh women’s team footballers, like their male colleagues, also showed concern about maintaining fitness while stuck at home due to Covid-19 that halted the Women’s Football League for two months.
“It’s difficult to maintain practice without proper ground. We don’t have enough space neither equipment for physical exercise at home. It’s difficult to maintain fitness with little opportunity,” said captain Sabina Khatun during live Facebook adda arranged by Bangladesh Football Federation.
“Players have been in BFF long-term training camp for long time, now we are out of the camp for two-three months. Everyone is getting affected. It will leave big impact,” added the Bashundhara Kings striker, who scored 15 goals in only five matches before the women’s league got postponed.
“It will be good to see league roll on field soon. We all footballers need it not only for performance but also for financial back-up,” said Sabina, better known as the goal-machine.
“Everyone is missing Kamalapur Stadium,” said Sabina from Satkhira.
She was the most senior member among club and national teammates Maria Manda, Akhi Khatun, Mishrat Jahan Mousumi and Srimoti Krishna Rani Sarkar on single live window.
Bangladesh Premier League players admitted that it is impossible to maintain full fitness by doing physical exercises at home, and sought some time to go back to normal fitness before the BPL resumes.https://t.co/cNzenfR6ot#FOOTBALL #BANGLADESH #BANGLADESHFOOTBALL #BPL #BFF

All admitted to have no practice for a long time, spending most of the time with family members at home, helping mother with household chores and playing indoor games like carom and ludu during leisure time.
Krishna recently bought a camera but haven’t found enough occasions to try her photography skill.
She said from Tangail, “Enjoying it with family but long time no practice.”
Defender Akhi said, “It’s both good and bad. Good is staying with family, bad is missing football. Sometimes helping mother, they encourage me to watch games on internet.”
National team head coach Golam Rabbani Choton joined the discussion briefly and suggested his disciples to start warming up and do cardiovascular training at home or the yard.
He expressed worry saying, “Two months with no practice is a disaster for the players.”
