Chittagong Abahani Limited began their Walton U-18 Football Tournament campaign on a resounding note, thrashing Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra 5-0 at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Friday.
Earlier in the day, Saif Sporting Club and Nofel Sporting Club played out a goalless draw in the opening match of the tournament at the same venue.
Jamal bagged a hat-trick for Chittagong Abahani, scoring in the 20th, 39th and first minute of injury time in the first half from the penalty spot.
Rasel and Ibrahim netted one each for the winning side.

Saif and Nofel earlier played out a stalemate at the big bowl.
Saniyat gave Saif the lead from the penalty spot in the 31st minute but Nofel replied through Mejbah in the 49th minute.
On the second day of the national age-level tournament Saturday, Lt. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited will take on Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society at 4pm at the BNS while Abahani Limited and Bashundhara Kings will lock horns with each other in the blockbuster clash of the day at 6:30pm.
