Host Bangladesh look forward to winning the Bangamata U-19 Women’s Gold Cup, but before achieving the big target, their coach Golam Rabbani Choton is aware about their semi-final opponent Mongolia.
Bangladesh, who won both their group stage matches to become group champion, will take on Mongolia, the runners-up of Group A in the second semi-final Tuesday.
“Our primary target was to qualify for the semi-final as the group champions. The girls have done that brilliantly. We thank the spectators as they came to the ground for supporting us,” said Choton at a press conference after training Sunday.
“Semi-final is an important game. Mongolia are a very good side. They reached the semi-final by playing well. But I hope our girls will play well in the semi-final like the last two games. They will insert their full strength. They will improve by rectifying the mistakes,” he added.

Laos beat both Mongolia and Tajikistan and after beating the latter, ensured their last four berth with the home side.
Choton did some homework ahead of the clash.
“We have watched Mongolia’s game on tv. We think Kyrgyzstan, the United Arab Emirates and Mongolia are similar teams. They have similar tactics. Mongolia will try to resist our attacks. But we are not worried. We have done our homework,” said Choton.
However, Bangladesh may miss two of their dependable players Srimoti Krishna Rani Sarkar and Sirat Jahan Shapna due to injury.

Choton informed that they will take decisions about the players after receiving the MRI reports.
But Bangladesh captain Mosammat Mishrat Jahan Mousumi are hopeful about a big win.
“Our girls are fit for the semi-final. I hope if we can show our best and win by a big margin,” said Mousumi.
Mongolia coach Kawamato Nauko also expects a competitive match.
“Bangladesh’s attack is strong. They attack from both sides. We will try to nullify them. There are not many differences with the sides. Hopefully it will be a competitive game,” said Nauko.
