The U-16 team conducted their preparations for their first game versus Philippines on the 27th with an official training session later on in the afternoon at the Mandalay Football Academy Ground, Myanmar on Monday.
The Myanmar team also had their afternoon training following Bangladesh squad’s session.
Earlier in the morning, senior national team players trained hard at Myanmar’s regional Academy in Mandalay, while the U-16 squad went through a more relaxed stretching session at the fitness suite of the hotel.
The starting team rehearsed their defensive and attacking patterns with a comprehensive run through of their set plays.
All players used the new technological GPS pods and vests to monitor their intensity levels and physical output.
Bangladesh’s captain Maria Manda expressed her excitement at seeing the stadium in Mandalay.
“It looks impressive,” she said.
“All the players are enjoying their time in Mandalay. The positive environment, good training facilities and peaceful location amazed the girls,” Maria added.
Head coach Golam Rabani Choton was pleased by the state of the playing surface at the stadium.
“The match stadium in Mandalay is a very prominent building with plenty of history. The playing surface is of a generous size which is likely to suit our progressive exciting attacking style,” Choton said.
Akhi Khatun, Bangladesh’s talented central defender and vice-captain was also really excited to be playing in such a stadium.
“The team will be ready to perform,” said Akhi.
On Tuesday,there will be a match co-ordination meeting (MCM) between all four Teams of Group-B with the AFC match commissioner. There will also be a pre-match press conference afterwards with all four head coaches.
