Farashganj Sporting Club were off to a winning start in the second tier Bangladesh Championship League as they beat Dhaka City Football Club 1-0 in the tournament opener Sunday at Bir Sreshtha Shaheed Sipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur.
Arif Mia scored the all-important goal a minute before the final whistle.
Farashganj will face Wari Club in their second match Thursday.

BFF senior vice president Abdus Salam Murshedy inaugurated the league as the chief guest.
In Monday’s matches at the same venue, Victoria SC will lock horns with Wari at 1:15pm while Shadhinota Krira Sangha will take on Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club at 3:15pm.
