Chittagong Abahani Limited’s Momodou Bah scored for the second game running as the port city outfit qualified for the quarter-final of the Independence Cup after edging Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society 1-0 at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Thursday.
The Gambian had bagged a brace in their Independence Cup opener against Nofel Sporting Club and was also on the scoresheet Thursday for the reigning runners-up side.
Bah scored the all-important goal in the 36th minute, heading home a Kowshik Borua corner.
Rahmatganj though wasted their best opportunity in the 22nd minute when Faisal Ahmed’s shot hit the crossbar.

It appeared the ball kissed the goalline but the referee did not award the goal, neither did the Rahmatganj players claim the goal.
Chittagong Abahani will face Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited in their last group stage match Sunday at the same venue.
Rahmatganj, who tasted their first defeat Thursday, can still make it to the last eight as they drew their opening match against Mohammedan.
