Bangladesh lose 7-0 to Vietnam in AFC Futsal

Update : 04 May 2018, 10:59 PM
Bangladesh conceded their second consecutive defeat in their debut appearance in the AFC Women's Futsal Championship after losing 7-0 against a strong Vietnam in Bangkok, Thailand Friday. With an average age of just 16, the girls in red and green tried hard but lacked the futsal nous compared to that of their more experienced opponent, who played with poise and patience to regularly create, then exploit gaps in the Bangladesh defence, reported The AFC. Vietnam scored three goals in the opening half before adding four more in the latter half, thanks to a hat-trick by Do Thi Nguyen, and braces from Thuy Trinh and Trinh Nguyen.

Bangladesh head coach Golam Robbani Choton said the girls performed better than their previous game against Malaysia. He added, “Vietnam have played for a long time, and we’ve only played futsal for three days. We had our first experience in these three days. Our girls tried and did well. They’re getting a lot of experience and you saw [Friday] they did very well in defending.” Vietnam head coach Truong Quoc Tuan praised the skills of the Bangladesh players but pointed out that the Bengal girls were slightly behind in terms of tactics due to a lack of experience. Bangladesh will conclude their group stage campaign against Chinese Taipei Sunday.RESULTBangladesh 0 7 Vietnam (Nguyen 3, 32, 39, Trinh 12, 13, T Linh 21, 25)
