Lt. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club closed the gap with Bangladesh Premier League table-topper Chittagong Abahani Limited to two points after their 3-1 win over Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Friday.
Sheikh Jamal now have 40 points, two less than Chittagong Abahani, both having played 17 matches each.Sheikh Jamal opened the scoring in the 20th minute through Raphael, who went on to complete the rout in the 53rd minute with his second goal.
In between, Nurul netted in the 37th minute to double the lead for Sheikh Jamal.Towhid struck in the 61st minute for Muktijoddha but it proved to be nothing but a consolation goal.
Meanwhile in the other game of the day at the same venue, Saif Sporting Club and Brothers Union played out a goalless draw.
