A cricketer on field, at least, tries to wear a smart look and there is no doubt they are always very cautious of their own style. The outfit a player wears matters a lot and the chirpy mood in the Bangladesh camp ahead of the World Cup was disturbed by none other than their jersey maker Tex Wave. The team flew for Australia day before yesterday, but the players rejected the match outfit provided to them for the mega event.
The designated vendor, Tex Wave, who have been the official jersey makers of the Bangladesh national cricket since ICC World Twenty20 last year, failed to deliver the outfits on time and had them delivered to the players only a day before they left.
However, the quality was awful while the sizes were also not perfect which not only upset the cricketers but also Bangladesh Cricket Board cricket operations chairman Naimur Rahman.
According to Bangladesh team manager Khaled Mahmud the size and the collar of the match shirt was the problem. Tex Wave, however, promised to provide fresh set of jerseys by January 28.
Meanwhile Naimur said, “The jerseys were delivered but none are of the right sizes. There are many jerseys which has issue with the collars. Such kind of mismanagement is never acceptable especially because the team is going to the World Cup,” said Naimur to a Bengali national daily.
The players refused to accept the jerseys, but upon request from the team management each to a set of jerseys just in case there is a failure in the latest delivery deadline.
