Bangladeshi bowlers have smashed Zimbabwe batting line and secured 2nd ODI win of the second match of five match series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
Zimbabwe was crumbled out for 183 while chasing 252 runs.
Mashrafe Mortaza, the captain of the side led them from front by taking three early Zimbabwe wickets .
Arafat Sunny rattled the tail with 4 wickets; one of them was the crucial wicket of Zimbabwean talisman Brendon Taylor.
Mashrafe clean bowled the dangerous Masakadza in the very first over for a duck.
Later on he picked up Raza and Sibanda to break the Zimbabwean progress.
Mire scored a good half century but he succumbed to the pressure of the ever augmenting required run rate.
Zimbabwean skipper Chigumbura was going strong and picked up a few boundaries, three of them in the same over in the bowling of his counterpart, Mortaza.
His innings came to an end with the most spectacular piece of fielding from Sabbir Rahman. He intelligently accessed the situation and made an inch perfect throw to the keeper’s end to finish the Chigumbura innings when the score was on 177. That virtually finished all the hope for the visitors.
They could add just six more runs and lost remaining three wickets to Arafat Sunny, who cleaned up the tail meticulously. Nine, ten and Jack were clean bowled by the left arm spinner.
Earlier, Bangladesh scored 251 runs losing seven wickets at their stipulated 50 overs.
The host was going strong with a solid opening stand of 158 after winning the toss and selecting to bat first.
Openers Tamim Iqbal and Anamul Haque scored 76 and 80 runs respectively.
But since the fall of the first wicket a mini collapse occurred and the host lost 4 wickets for just 15 runs, including Shakib Al Hasan, who was clean bowled of the first delivery he faced.
Later on Mominul repaired the damage with a rapid 33 and post a formidable total of 251, which however did not justify the grand opening stand.
