Al Amin positive over bowling test

Update : 21 Oct 2014, 08:23 PM

Bangladesh paceman Al Amin Hossain is confident of a positive outcome following his return from the Sri Ramachandra University in Porur, Chennai yesterday after he appeared for a bowling test on his suspect bowling action.

“I bowled five overs in the bowling action test just like I bowl in match situations. The officials present there informed me that they have accepted my test. I am confident and hoping for a positive result,” said Al Amin.

Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) game development manager Nazmul Abedin Fahim accompanied the pacer to Chennai but was not allowed to enter the accredited facility. The result of Al Amin’s bowling test is likely to be given within 15 days. Keeping that in mind, the BCB named him in the 14-man squad for the first Test against Zimbabwe on October 25.

Al-Amin was reported by the International Cricket Council for a suspect bowling action after the conclusion of the first Test against the West Indies recently. He is the second Bangladeshi bowler to be reported for an illegal bowling action after off-spinner Sohag Gazi, who has already been suspended following his bowling test which took place in Cardiff.

The pace bowler was earlier scheduled to give his bowling test in Leicestershire, England on October 3 but was forced to postpone the test due to his side strain injury.
