BDCricTime has officially received registration from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, becoming Bangladesh’s first registered cricket news portal.
The approval was granted on February 9, 2026, marking a significant milestone for the digital platform that has been covering cricket at home and abroad for more than a decade.
Founded in 2011 under the leadership of Editor-in-Chief Md. Jabed Ali, BDCricTime began as a social media-based cricket page before gradually evolving into a full-fledged digital news platform. A major expansion in 2014 saw the outlet widen its presence across multiple social media channels, accelerating its growth among Bangladeshi cricket fans.
Over the years, the platform has built a strong and loyal audience base by delivering fast, verified, and reliable cricket news. It recently surpassed 10 million followers on Facebook and crossed 1 million subscribers on YouTube, reflecting its growing influence in the country’s digital sports media landscape.
Behind the scenes, a dedicated editorial team works to ensure accuracy and maintain journalistic standards while publishing breaking updates and in-depth cricket coverage.
President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, Aminul Islam Bulbul, congratulated BDCricTime on achieving official recognition.
“Many congratulations to BDCricTime for being registered by the Ministry of Information of the Government of Bangladesh. We hope everyone involved in online media will become officially registered as well. We are proud of the way BDCricTime has been consistently working for cricket both at home and abroad. You are helping move cricket forward in a positive way,” he said, wishing the platform continued success.
Expressing his reaction, Md. Jabed Ali said the registration represents institutional recognition of more than a decade of responsible cricket journalism.
“For more than ten years, we have practiced cricket journalism with responsibility and professionalism. This registration is an important milestone and acknowledgment of that effort. We remain committed to contributing to the progress of Bangladesh cricket through fact-based and positive journalism,” he added.
