Bangladesh Cricket Board named the chairmen of all the standing committees sans two Saturday.
Names of the chairmen were announced after a meeting of the BCB office at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
Faruk Ahmed, who was elected BCB president after the fall of the Awami League regime, found it tough to continue the daily work of the board.
Since just 10 directors including Faruk is active at this moment, most of the directors got more than one committee to run BCB in full swing.
Iftekhar Ahmed Mithu has been appointed as the chairman of media and communications committee.
Nazmul Abedeen Fahim will head the cricket operations committee and women’s wing while president Faruk kept the marketing committee in his hands.
The chairman was given the responsibility to name the full committee of the respective department as early as possible, Mithu said.
Chairmen of 21 standing committees were named while working and security committee are yet to be announced.
Other standing committee chairmen are as follows:
Fahim Sinha: finance, game development, logistic and protocol, Mahbub Anam: grounds, High Performance Unit, tender and purchase, Akram Khan: tournament, facilities management and physically challenged persons, Saiful Alam Chowdhury Sopon: age group, disciplinary, Kazi Inam Ahmed: Bangladesh Tigers, Mohammad Salahuddin: Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis, audit, Monjur Alam: medical, welfare

Salary structure for umpires
The board has approved the proposed salary structure for 33 contracted umpires under the BCB’s payroll. The list includes one International Cricket Council elite panel (Grade A+), four ICC international panel (Grade A), four BCB elite panel (Grade B), four women ICC development panel (Grade C), two emerging panel (Grade C), six first class panel (Grade C), seven BCB emerging panel (Grade C) and five regional panel umpires.
Functions of constitution amendment committee brought to a halt
The functions of the constitution amendment committee, which had been formed in the 15th meeting of the board, has been brought to a halt. The board will discuss and consult with all relevant stakeholders and refine the terms of reference and scope of work before proceeding further on the amendment.
Women’s BPL
The board has initiated the Expression of Interest process for event management firms for the proposed first Women’s Bangladesh Premier League.
Welfare fund
The Board has approved the formation of a welfare fund designed at supporting cricketers and persons who contribute to Bangladesh cricket in different capacities including organizers, officials and members of the media.
