Veteran Bangladesh seamer Jahanara Alam returned to the One Day International set-up after a gap of 18 months as the 15-member national women’s squad was announced for the upcoming home series against Ireland.
The 31-year old right-arm bowler last played an ODI in May last year against Sri Lanka.
Opening batter Sharmin Akter also scripted a way back into the Tigresses’ national dressing room having last featured in a 50-over game in July, 2023 against India.
Taj Nehar and Sanjida Akter Meghla earned maiden ODI call-ups while Disha Biswas, Sumaiya Akter, Nishita Akter and Farzana Haque Lisa were dropped from the last squad that suffered a 3-0 series sweep at home against Australia.
The Irish women’s team will arrive in Dhaka this Friday, ahead of the first ODI on November 27 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Mirpur will also host the second and third ODI on November 30 and December 2 respectively.
The two teams will then travel to Sylhet for the three-match Twenty20 international series.
