Left-arm spinner Nahida Akter became the first Bangladeshi female bowler to take 100 wickets in the Twenty20 format after picking up one wicket against Scotland in the side's T20 World Cup opener Thursday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, United Arab Emirates.
She just conceded 19 runs in her four overs as Bangladesh registered a 16-run victory to end their 10-year wait in the marquee tournament.
Nahida needed just one wicket to reach the magical figure but things looked gloomy for her when she failed to take a wicket in her first three overs.
However in her last over, she got rid of Katherine Fraser to achieve the milestone.
Nahida made her debut against Pakistan in 2015, at the age of just 15.
She reached 50-wicket milestone in 41 matches and completed 100-wicket haul in 88 games with an average of 16.82 and economy rate of 5.72.
She claimed five wickets twice in an innings.
