Sylhet Strikers beat Khulna Tigers by five wickets Friday to inject momentum into their Bangladesh Premier League playoff bid.
The Strikers are still second from bottom but now have six points from nine matches while the Tigers find themselves at fourth with eight points from seven games.
Batting first at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Khulna posted 153 runs for the loss of three wickets in their 20 overs, riding on unbeaten knocks from captain Anamul Haque (67 off 58) and Habibur Rahman Sohan (43 off 30).
Sanjamul Islam, Samit Patel and Benny Howell bagged one wicket each for Sylhet.
In reply, the Strikers reached their destination with an over to spare thanks to Harry Tector (61 off 52) and the undefeated Ryan Burl (32 off 16).
Mark Deyal picked up three wickets for the Tigers.
