Defending champions Comilla Victorians outclassed Chattogram Challengers by seven wickets to go third in the Bangladesh Premier League points table Friday.

Player of the match Tanvir Islam spun the Victorians to victory in Sylhet with his four-wicket haul as the Challengers, asked to bat first, were dismissed for 72 in 16.3 overs, the lowest total in 2024 BPL.

Only two batsmen – Tom Bruce (27) and Najibullah Zadran (11) - from the port city outfit scored in double digit as Tanvir finished with 4/13 from four overs, including a maiden.

Aliss Al Islam was also impressive, ending up with 2/14 from his quota of four overs.

In reply, Comilla lost Liton Das (two) early as the Victorians captain continued his bad run of form in this edition, but Towhid Hridoy (31) and Mohammad Rizwan (16 not out) ensured a convincing win in the end in 9.2 overs.

The Victorians have six points from five matches while the Challengers are second with eight points, having played a game more.

Chattogram Challengers 72 in 16.3 overs (Bruce 27, Tanvir 4/13) lost to Comilla Victorians 73/3 in 9.2 overs (Hridoy 31, Rizwan 16*) by 7 wickets
