Bangladesh team returned to training Saturday in New Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium where air pollution rose to severe category in recent days.
Most of the players and team officials were seen wearing masks when they reached the stadium in the evening.
The air quality in several areas of the Indian capital remained in the severe category as the Air Quality Index was 413 on average throughout Saturday.
An AQI between 200-300 is rated as "poor", 301-400 "very poor" and 401-500 "severe".
An AQI above 500 however, falls in the "severe plus" category.
The constant fall of AQI in the last few days forced the Delhi government to shut down all primary schools.
Bangladesh will play their next match against Sri Lanka Monday.
Bangladesh team reached Delhi last Wednesday and Saturday was the first time they attended practice as they canceled their training previously due to severe air pollution.
Opposition Sri Lanka had also scheduled practice Saturday but canceled their session early in the morning due to health concerns.
Bangladesh are desperate to win their next game to have any chance of qualification for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan.
So despite the hazardous and uncomfortable condition, the Tigers hit the ground and completed some intense net sessions ahead of their Sri Lanka clash.
There was no fielding session considering the pollution and after slight warm-up, players went to net session where batters Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim and Towhid Hridoy sweated it out.
Opener Liton Das and pacer Mustafizur Rahman were not seen in the training session as according to team source, 13 players from the squad took part in practice.
The men in red and green are already out of the race for the semi-finals after six consecutive defeats; their opening match victory against Afghanistan all but a distant memory now.
However, with the Champions Trophy qualification hotting up, the Tigers at least have something to play for.
Their final group stage tie is against five-time winners Australia in Pune Saturday.
Alongside hosts Pakistan, the top seven sides in the 10-team standings after the end of the group stage of the World Cup will advance to the Champions Trophy.
