Bangladesh Cricket Board Wednesday announced the 15-member national women’s cricket team squad for the upcoming 19th edition of the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
Nigar Sultana Joty will lead the side while Nahida Akter will be her deputy in the women’s cricket event, scheduled to be held from September 19-25.
There were no places in the squad for veteran quartet Salma Khatun, Jahanara Alam, Rumana Ahmed and Murshida Khatun with only the former and the latter named as standby.
Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will play directly in the quarter-finals.
