Bangladesh national women's cricket team held their nerve to tie the third and final One Day International of the series against visiting India in Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Saturday.
India were chasing 226 runs for victory but lost all of their wickets with the score level and three balls to spare.
Ten runs were needed in the last three overs with three wickets in hand for India but Bangladesh spinner Nahida Akter took two wickets and conceded just one run in the 48th over of the innings.
Six runs came off the 49th over and the remaining equation was three runs to win for India and Bangladesh required one wicket.
Bangladesh pacer Marufa Akter bowled the last over and India managed to take two singles off the first two balls to level the score.
In the third delivery, Marufa bagged the wicket of India's last batter Meghna Singh and thus Bangladesh scripted a thrilling end to the third match as the series ended 1-1.
Amid all the drama, Jemimah Rodrigues was unbeaten at the other end on 33.
The tourists started their chase nervously as they lost two wickets within the first five overs.
But opener Smriti Mandhana, who got a life when she was batting on one, built a solid 107-run partnership for the third wicket to steady the ship for India.
Mandhana got out after scoring 59 and India also lost skipper Harmanpreet Kaur in the 34th over.
Harmanpreet looked furious when the umpire gave her leg before wicket and the India captain shockingly hit the stumps with her bat as one stump flew and landed a few feet away.
Harmanpreet was later given out caught behind as the ball was grabbed at slip cordon after hitting her leg.
Harleen Deol was the top-scorer for India with 77.
Earlier, Fargana Hoque Pinky scored the maiden ODI century for Bangladesh women as the Tigresses scored 225 runs losing four wickets in their 50 overs.
Opener Fargana crossed the 100-run milestone in the last ball of the 48th over.
She got run out in the last ball of the innings after scoring 107 off 160 deliveries with seven boundaries.
The previous highest score for Bangladesh women in ODIs was 75 by Rumana Ahmed and Salma Khatun in two different matches.
Besides Fargana's brilliant hundred, Shamima Sultana also scored a half-century, 52 off 78 deliveries with five boundaries.
After electing to bat first, Bangladesh opening pair Fargana and Shamima made a solid start as they put on 93 runs.
Skipper Nigar Sultana Joty (24) promoted herself to No 3 after Shamima got out and formed a 71-run partnership with Fargana.
Sobhana Mostary made 23 off 22 in the late stage of the innings to help Bangladesh cross the 220-run mark.
