Update : 13 Jul 2013, 04:53 PM

After a weeklong rest the national cricketers will return to field today with trainer Stuart Karppinen emphasising on skill training at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium (SBNS). The national camp for the upcoming home series against New Zealand in October earlier took off on June 13 with Stuart using special software to measure the fitness of the players.

The players, who have no cricket action in the meantime, also worked extremely hard at the fitness camp and hoped it will help them in coming future.

Along with the skill training the Tigers are also expected to play some practice matches against the ‘A’ team, U-19 and U-23 side who are set to feature in different series’ abroad.

Bangladesh Cricket Board’s cricket operation committee directed the grounds committee to prepare the SBNS for the practice matches. The U-19 team is expected to leave on July 28 for England to participate in a Tri-nation tournament involving Pakistan and the hosts.

Bangladesh ‘A’ team, who is expected to reach England on August 2, is scheduled to play eight limited over matches in England while the U-23 side will leave for Singapore on August 15 to play in the Emerging Nations Cup, a one-day tournament to be held from August 17-26.

National coach Shane Jurgensen, who is currently spending a holiday in Australia, is expected to return before the practice matches.
