Injured fast bowler Taskin Ahmed, who is currently being treated for a knee injury in Australia, will not require surgery. The young cricketer told the Dhaka Tribune that he would instead need two to three months of rehabilitation to recover from the injury.
Taskin, who left for Melbourne, Australia on June 26, is being treated by Dr Michael Makdissi and physiotherapist Peter Miliaras.
“The doctors, after observing me, informed that I don’t need any surgery and the injury is not serious,” said a happy Taskin.
He added, “The doctors only suggested a full rehabilitation programme for two-three months and also strength training for me, and they also informed that I don’t need any injection to reduce my pain.”
The promising fast bowler made his mark when he grabbed four wickets for Chittagong Kings against Duronto Rajshahi in the Bangladesh Premier League’s second edition and was considered for selection when Bangladesh toured Sri Lanka last March. Injury ruled him out on that occasion.
Taskin is expected to return from Australia on July 13. He will undergo strength training, as doctors diagnosed that the injury had come from overworking the knees.
