Comilla Victorians registered their fourth victory in the Bangladesh Premier League when they thrashed bottom side Dhaka Dominators by 60 runs in Mirpur Monday to go third in the standings.

Asked to bat first, holders Comilla posted 164 losing six wickets with Johnson Charles scoring the highest 32 and Khushdil Shah chipping in with 30.

Dhaka captain Nasir Hossain bagged two wickets.

In reply, the capital city outfit were restricted to 104 for the loss of nine wickets with Usman Ghani top-scoring with 33 in a sorry batting card.

Naseem Shah starred for the Victorians picking up four wickets conceding just 12 runs in his quota of four overs, while player of the match Khushdil took two scalps.

Malik powers Rangpur to 55-run victory

Pakistan recruit Shoaib Malik struck an unbeaten 45-ball 75 as Rangpur Riders romped to a 55-run victory over Chattogram Challengers for their third win, reports BSS.

His brilliant knock, which included five fours and as many sixes, was complemented by an equally aggressive 24-ball 42 by Afghan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai as Rangpur compiled a hefty 179/6.

Chattogram were nowhere near to the challenge as they were bowled out for 124 in 16.3 overs with their batting mainstay Afif Hossain unable to bat due to high fever.

After being asked to bat first, Rangpur made a disastrous start, getting reduced to 47/3 in the ninth over with Mahedi Hasan, who was sent to open the innings alongside Parvez Hossain Emon, departing for one.

Opener Mohammad Naim looked to have gotten off to a good start but couldn't cash in, being dismissed for a 29-ball 34.

Malik and Omarzai not only helped them recover from the shaky start but batted in aggressive fashion to take the side to a strong total.

They hoicked 105 off just 52 balls by treating the Chattogram bowlers with sheer disdain.

Pacer Mehedi Hasan Rana broke the partnership after Omarzai smashed one four and four sixes in his tornado knock.

But Malik stayed at the crease till the end and ensured Rangpur would amass a total that would give them a chance to win the game.

Rana was the most successful bowler for Chattogram with 3/39 while captain Shuvagata Hom claimed 2/13.

Shuvagata also led from the front in batting with a 31-ball 52, hitting four fours and four sixes, but he hardly got support from the other end, a reason that hastened Chattogram's fifth defeat in seven matches.

Rangpur's Pakistan speedster Haris Rauf took the side on the verge of the victory, removing Shuvagata.

He also took the wicket of Darwish Rasooli for 24, the key middle-order batter of Chattogram, and eventually finished with 3/17.

Ziaur Rahman was the other batter apart from Shuvagata and Rasooli to reach double figure mark with 12-ball 24.

Rakibul Hasan picked up 2/24 to back up Rauf's effort as Rangpur moved to top four with six points from six matches.
