Sylhet Strikers' in-form batter Towhid Hridoy has been advised two weeks' rest upon getting eight stitches on his left hand after incurring the injury while fielding against Dhaka Dominators during their Bangladesh Premier League match in Mirpur Tuesday.

The ninth edition's top-scorer with 195 runs from three innings with an average of 65 and strike rate of 166.67, Hridoy has been the standout performer so far as the BPL enters its second phase in Chittagong.

Unbeaten Sylhet, who have won four times in a row, will miss the services of the 22-year old right-hander for three games in the 14-day period, following which Hridoy will get five matches provided he makes a full recovery, before the playoffs begin on February 12.

Hridoy sustained the wound while fielding at point in the 12th over, bowled by Rejaur Rahman Raja, with captain Nasir Hossain on strike.
