Opening batsman Mohammad Naim has been included in the Bangladesh squad for the Asia Cup Twenty20 2022 in the United Arab Emirates.
On the other hand, Bangladesh Cricket Board Monday ruled out wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan and fast bowler Hasan Mahmud, citing injuries, from the six-team tournament set to begin this Saturday.
The 23-year-old Naim has returned to the fold after getting discarded on the back of below par form.
Naim has been capped 34 times in T20Is and last played in March this year.
The left-hander, who was part of the Bangladesh A team during the recent tour of the West indies, will join the team in Dubai Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Hasan and Nurul, who were originally selected in the squad, will both miss the Asia Cup through injury.
Hasan suffered a ligament damage to his right ankle during training last Saturday and is sidelined for at least three weeks.
Nurul underwent surgery on his left index finger in Singapore two weeks ago and needs more time to recover.
The Bangladesh team are scheduled to depart from Dhaka for Dubai Tuesday evening.
Bangladesh, in Group B, will begin their Asia Cup campaign against Afghanistan next Tuesday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
In the second group phase game, Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka on September 1 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Top two teams from each group will proceed to the second phase of the tournament - Super Four round.
The top two teams in the Super Four points table will play the tournament finale at Dubai International Stadium on September 11.
