Bangladesh Cricket Club Oman has been felicitated by the Bangladesh community in Oman for finishing as the champions of T10 competition arranged by Oman Cricket Board.
Bangladesh Cricket Club grabbed the title of the tournament competing against nine participating teams.
A felicitation program to congratulate the champions was held at a hotel in Muscat Wednesday.
Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Counsellor (Labor Welfare) of Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Muscat was present as the chief guest in the program.
Oman Cricket director, chief of the national selection panel and head of the disciplinary committee Syed Anwar Ahsan was present as the special guest along with NRB CIP Association general secretary Mohammed Yaseen Chowdhury.
“As expats we all as a community should always try to lift the image of our county Bangladesh. I hope this team [Bangladesh Cricket Club] will produce players that will represent Oman in the international level,” said Yaseen, who declared a seven-member convening committee for the development of Bangladesh Cricket Club.
Engineer Ashrafur Rahman CIP was named the convenor while Mohammad Riyed was appointed the joint-convenor of the committee.
Mohammad Sheikh Fahad [secretary], Jahirul Silam, Wahidur Rahman, Mohiuddin Sajib and Syed Arif are the other members of the of the committee.
“On behalf of the Embassy I want to congratulate the Bangladeshi team for finishing as the champions in the tournament held at Oman Cricket Stadium. It is a matter of pride for the country and our community in Oman,” said Humayun who assured full cooperation to the team from Bangladesh Embassy in Muscat.
