Bangladesh Tigers beat HP by nine wickets

On the final day of the game, HP team had set 127 runs for Bangladesh Tigers to chase

Bangladesh Tigers have secured a nine-wicket win in the four-day game against BCB High Performance Unit at Shahid Kamaruzzaman Stadium on Sunday.

Tigers were first lifted by bowlers Tanvir Islam and Abu Haider Rony and then found batter Imrul Kayes and Nayeem Sheikh post unbeaten innings chasing a small target.

On the final day of the game, HP team had set 127 runs for Bangladesh Tigers to chase.

Tigers reached the shore in 22.3 overs losing one wicket, in Soumya Sarkar [9]. Left-handed batter Soumya had scored 81 runs in the first innings of the game. 

Both Imrul and Nayeem had failed in the first innings of the game. But on the day, the duo produced match winning 111-run stand for the second wicket as Imrul remained unbeaten on 68 runs while Nayeem posted 47 not out.

Imrul reached half century in 61 deliveries with the aid of eight boundaries and one over boundary and got two more over boundaries in the latter part of the innings. Nayeem on the other hand found six boundaries and one over boundary.

Earlier in the day, BCB HP resumed with overnight score of 123 for four and were able to add 94 more runs to the total. Shahadat Dipu scored 40, the highest in the innings while Tanjid Hasan, Rishad Hasan and Mahfijul Islam added 33, 31 and 27 runs to the tally.

Left-arm spinner Tanvir picked four wickets conceding 35 runs in 21.5 overs for Bangladesh Tigers. Left-arm fast bowler Abu Haider picked three wickets and conceded 35 runs in 12 overs.  

Earlier in the game, BCB HP had scored 227 runs in the first innings after sent to bat first. In reply Bangladesh Tigers took 91 runs lead and had scored 318 runs riding on Soumya’s 81 and Fazley Rabbi’s 89.
