Pace all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin has been ruled out from the tour of West Indies. The right-arm pacer and later order batter, who was part of Bangladesh ODI and T20I squad for the tour, was scheduled to take flight to the Caribbean islands on Friday.
However, on Thursday, the Bangladesh Cricket Board [BCB] medical team termed Saifuddin unfit for the series with emergence of an old injury.
Saifuddin has been suffering from an old back injury and is not fit to bowl.
“Although Saifuddin is training, we feel that at the moment he has not reached the bowling fitness level required to cope with the intensity of international cricket. He will miss the West Indies series as he continues his rehab and works on his fitness.” Said BCB Chief Sports Physician Dr Debashis Chowdhury.

Saifuddin has been termed unfit as he has been feeling pain on his leg while bowling. The issue has already been informed to the Bangladesh national team management informed the BCB official.
The 25-year-old has been dealing with injuries for long now and last played for Bangladesh in October 2021 during the ICC T20I World Cup. Saifuddin due to the injury was ruled out half way from the world event and was unavailable for the Bangladesh Premier League T20 earlier this year.
The pace bowling all-rounder had made a comeback to the field with the Dhaka Premier League in April this year and had picked 22 wickets in 14 games for Abahani Ltd. He had finished as the fourth highest wicket taker in the tournament and the best performer amongst the local fast bowlers.
