Rangpur Shishu Niketon High School emerged as the champion of the Prime Bank National School Cricket Tournament 2021-22 defeating Meherpur Government High School at Shamsuzzoha Sports Complex (adjacent to Osmani Stadium), Isdair, Narayanganj Monday.
Shishu Niketon won the match by 59 runs despite giving their opponent just 103-run target.
Batsmen from both the teams struggled to score as Shishu Niketon were bundled out for only 102 in 37.1 overs.
Off-spinner Arafat Aman took four wickets for Meherpur conceding just nine runs in his quota of 10 overs to help his team restrict Shishu Niketon for a low score.
But even that target proved too difficult for Meherpur as they managed to play just 20.2 overs and surrendered scoring just 43 runs.

Shishu Niketon skipper Shaikh Imtiaz Shihab was the star performer for his team as he bowled superbly and picked up five wickets with his leg spin giving away 14 runs from five overs.
The final was televised on T-Sports and winning captain Shihab’s leg-spin bowling with good turn, bounce, variation and googly were impressive to watch.
Shihab was adjudged player of the final for his match-winning five-wicket haul and also selected as player of the tournament with 33 wickets overall and 136 runs under his belt.
This year 350 school teams from across the country participated in the district round and from there 64 district champions and 16 teams from Dhaka Metropolis qualified for the divisional round.
The national round was contested by 16 teams.
The 2019-20 competition was disrupted upon completion of the district round due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which also prevented the tournament from taking place in 2020-21.
