All-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been injured and taken to hospital while playing for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club against Prime Bank Cricket Club during their Dhaka Premier League match at BKSP on Sunday.
Another national team player Mushfiqur Rahim has also injured his ankle while fielding for Sheikh Jamal in the same match at BKSP.
Miraz got injured while trying to take a catch of Tamim Iqbal running from deep mid-wicket during 18th over of the game. He looked to be in severe pain immediately holding his right thumb and later he was taken to a nearby hospital.
Earlier, Mushfiq got injured during the 10th over of the game while trying to stop a boundary.
Both Miraz and Mushfiq are in the squad for the upcoming first Test of the Sri Lanka Test series which will start from May 15.
Chief selector BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin said that Miraz may recover from his injury within 10 days.
"I have talked with their physio. Hopefully, Miraz will recover within 8-10 days. And about Mushfiq, it will take at least 24 hours to be sure of what exactly happened," Minhajul said to the media.
