Ex-SA player Prince joined Tigets last August

Update : 10 Feb 2022, 04:55 PM

Bangladesh cricket team's batting coach Ashwell Prince has resigned from his post.

It was confirmed by Bangladesh Cricket Board cricket operations committee chairman Jalal Younus to the media Wednesday evening.

Bangladesh have appointed former head coach Jamie Siddons as batting coach for two years and he is already in Bangladesh and currently observing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 2022 games in Sylhet.

Upon Siddons' arrival last Wednesday, it was a matter of national interest as to which areas Prince will work on but eventually the former Proteas left-hander has stepped down from his post.

“Yes, Prince has resigned. I have received his mail just a moment ago. He has not mentioned any particular reason. He just said he resigned due to family reasons,” said Jalal.

“To be honest, we are a bit surprised. We have said earlier that we will decide his role upon discussion after his return (from South Africa). But he has made his decision.”

Prince was appointed as permanent batting coach of Bangladesh last August.
