Jahanara, Rumana dropped, Salma returns for India series

The India women's team will tour Bangladesh next month for a white-ball series which includes 3 ODIs and as many T20Is

Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced the 20-member preliminary squad for the upcoming India women's tour of Bangladesh 2023. 

Experienced cricketers Jahanara Alam and Rumana Ahmed have been dropped from the squad for the upcoming series. 

But another experienced cricketer Salma Khatun makes a comeback to the side after being dropped from the previous Sri Lanka series. 

The players will report for the camp in Dhaka this Friday.

Training will start from Saturday. 

The India women's team will tour Bangladesh next month for a white-ball series which includes three one-day internationals and as many Twenty20 internationals.

All of the matches will be played at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

It will be the first time in 11 years that Mirpur will host a women's international game.

The last time was 2012 when Bangladesh women's team played at this venue against South Africa.

The one-day series is a part of the 2022-2025 International Cricket Council Women's Championship which is being contested by 10 teams to determine qualification for the 2025 Women's Cricket World Cup.

The Indian side will arrive in Dhaka on July 6.

The series will start with three T20Is, slated for July 9, 11 and 13 respectively.

The three ODIs will be held on July 16, 19 and 22.
