Acsu’s mystery visit

Update : 12 Jun 2013, 06:06 PM
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon announced at a press conference on June 4 that the ICC Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (Acsu) is likely to submit its investigation report on match and spot fixing within a week. The seven-day time frame came to an end on Monday and the presence of two Acsu men in Dhaka at the time resulted in many suspected that the report will soon be revealed. Two days later, however, and no on in cricketing circles has the slightest idea of when the report will be submitted. It though it was thought that Acsu was back in Dhaka to continue investigations, but no names were released as to who they might be questioned – arousing yet more speculation. “This is not a 90-minute game that the result will be out once the whistle is blown. Such investigation needs time to complete and when it’s, over everyone will be informed,” said BCB acting CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury yesterday.  Nizamuddin added that he was unaware of the reason for Acsu’s latest visit. It had been speculated that Acsu had come to meet board president Nazmul Hasan Papon, but the BCB president has been in Malaysia attending an Asian Cricket Council meeting and is expected to return today. The Acsu team is also scheduled to leave Dhaka today, making it unlikely that this was the purpose of their latest visit.
