England beat Pakistan by five wickets to win the 2022 Twenty20 World Cup and join the West Indies on two titles as the most successful teams in the competition's history.
The Three Lions chased down Pakistan's 137/8 with an over to spare to lift their second 20-over crown after 2010 when Paul Collingwood and Co emerged victorious in the Caribbean.
All-rounder Ben Stokes powered the chase with his unbeaten 49-ball 52 to atone for his disappointment in 2016 when the Windies won the second of their two 20-over titles, inspired by Carlos Brathwaite's big-hitting against Stokes in the final.
England earlier put in a disciplined bowling display to restrict Pakistan under 140 and justify captain Jos Buttler's decision to field first.
Left-arm seamer Sam Curran was the pick of the English bowlers and this T20 World Cup may have finally seen the coming of the talented fast bowling all-rounder.
He ended the tournament with 3/12 in four overs against Pakistan, just like he had begun impressively against Afghanistan, bagging 5/10.
With an overall economy rate of 6.52, he finished with 13 wickets from six matches, two less than highest wicket taker Wanindu Hasaranga, the Sri Lankan having played two games more.
Curran was ably supported by Adil Rashid, who finished with 2/22 from his four overs, and Chris Jordan with figure of 2/27 from four overs.
