Hosts South Africa ended the first day of their first Test against Bangladesh on 233-4 after bad light forced an early finish with 76.4 overs being bowled at the Kingsmead, Durban on Thursday.
Visitors won the toss but the South African openers Dean Elgar and Sarel Erwee saw off the opening session, which started late due to sight screen malfunction, ending with 95 runs.
Later Khaled Ahmed took the wicket of Dean Elgar (67) and Mehedi Miraj took the wicket of Sarel Erwee (41) which brought Tigers back in the game.
Miraz ran Keegan Petersen out with a direct throw for 19 while an Ebadot Hossain short ball got rid of debutant Ryan Rickelton for 21.

Temba Bavuma and Kyle Verreynne, who added 53, were overnight not out batters with 53 and 27 runs respectively.
Earlier in the day Bangladesh opening batsman Tamim Iqbal was ruled out due to a stomach ache . He stayed in the hotel, being attended by a doctor. Meanwhile, left arm pacer Shoriful Islam is also out due to minor niggles, and is being rested.
Shadman Islam is expected to open with Mahmudul Hasan Joy while Khaled Ahmed will join Taskin Ahmed and Edabot Hossain in the three-man pace battery for Tigers.
