Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan has been advised by the doctors to stay away from hectic cricket involvement.
The BCB chief following the organization’s first Annual General Meeting in four years informed the matter.
The BCB boss revealed the information when he was queried whether he will be contesting in the next BCB election, scheduled for November this year.
Nazmul said he is planning differently with regards to the upcoming election, considering his health issues, and that he needs to put a lot of time in cricket being the BCB supremo.
“Will I contest in the election? The doctors are continuously advising me to move away from cricket as soon as possible. Even if I am in the board, I should not be this much involved,” said Nazmul to the media.
Nazmul expressing his passion for the game of cricket said, “One bad side of mine is that I cannot accept when the team lose. I at times lose control of my emotions. Even my family avoids me in such situations. There are many other like me who cannot accept a Bangladesh defeat.

“We in the AGM decided the we will discuss and come to a decision on the election in the next BCB board meeting which is on September 1. We will soon declare the date for the election."
Nazmul first took the helm at the BCB in 2012 after the then BCB president AHM Mustafa Kamal took charge as the International Cricket Council vice-president.
In October 2013, Nazmul took charge as the first elected BCB president after his opponent Saber Hossain Chowdhury stepped down from the contest and raised questions on the clarity of the election.
Nazmul was elected uncontested.
Nazmul retained his chair after remaining uncontested in 2017 election and is being expected to remain uncontested in the election this year.
“You need to give a lot of time to cricket [as BCB president]. Our director Jalal [Younus] and Sajjadul Alam went to New Zealand and Zimbabwe respectively with the national team. They know I have been watching the games from early morning. I speak to them at their breakfast table. Discuss about the team. Cricket is actually taking too much of my time,” said Nazmul.
