A three-member New Zealand Cricket delegation team reached Dhaka Tuesday.
The visitors will be responsible for assessing the bio-safety bubble that is to be in place during the five-match T20I series between New Zealand and hosts Bangladesh.
Bangladesh Cricket Board's chief physician Dr. Debashish Chowdhury informed this to the media.
The NZC delegates will get to work after completion of three-day room quarantine.
“A three-member team reached Dhaka [Tuesday]. They will now be in three-day room quarantine and then get to work,” said Debashish.
“The inspection work is not easy because we have not placed the bio-safety bubble at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium yet. There are many people coming to the stadium every day. So it is a bit risky to get them [New Zealand delegates] visit and inspect the venue. We will discuss and try to find a way to this,” the BCB official added.
The NZC inspection team involves team manager Mike Sandle, Covid-19 specialist Andrew Love and a security manager.
New Zealand cricket team are scheduled to reach Dhaka on August 24 and play the five T20Is against the host nation starting September 1.
Two players of the visiting squad, Finn Allen and Colin de Grandhomme will however, reach Dhaka four days ahead of the series opener.
The duo are now in England playing The Hundred.
NZC has requested BCB to provide Covid-19 safety protocol similar to that was in place when Australia cricket team visited Dhaka earlier this month.
The five matches will be played in Mirpur behind closed doors on September 1, 3, 5, 8 and 10 respectively.
