Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim is set to miss the remainder of the tour in Zimbabwe.

The right-hand batsman has pulled himself off from the tour due to family reasons, informed Bangladesh Cricket Board's media department through a press release Wednesday.

As per media reports the middle-order batsman is returning home on an emergency basis to attend to his parents who have been infected with Covid-19 virus.

The decision from Mushfiq comes a day after he informed that he would be available for the T20 series in Zimbabwe.

Earlier, Mushfiq had decided to play only the lone Test match and ODI matches in the tour.

"Mushfiq will leave Harare later [Wednesday] and travel to Dhaka. He will miss Bangladesh's three ODIs against Zimbabwe and also the three-match T20 series that starts at the same venue on July 23,” said the BCB statement.
