Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim is confident of being available for the lone Test match against hosts Zimbabwe, set to start at Harare Sports Club Wednesday.
Bangladesh head coach Russell Domingo claimed the right-handed batsman has recovered well from the injury.
There is however, still concerns over the recovery of opener Tamim Iqbal.
The left-handed batsman is still in doubt over his availability for the game, and a decision will be taken soon.
“Mushfiq is pretty confident that he will be fit to play. He has done his rehab pretty well and everything seems to be on track. He is pretty confident he will be playing,” informed Domingo to the media Monday.
“About Tamim, we are still not 100% sure. There is still lot of doubt regarding him. I think a decision will be made in the near future."
In the two-day warm-up game against Zimbabwe Select XI, Mushfiq had remained in the dressing room.
Tamim batted 30 deliveries in the second innings of the game that finished in a draw Sunday.
Opener Tamim was advised a two-week rest to recover from a knee injury picked up during the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League Twenty20 last month.
He missed out on playing the Super League phase of the tournament for his team Prime Bank Cricket Club.
Mushfiq in contrast has been recovering well from a hairline fracture incurred on the left-hand during the same tournament.
Chances were high that both Tamim and Mushfiq would be unavailable for the Test.
Bangladesh Cricket Board national selection panel had called in Mahmudullah in the Test fold as back-up.
The national think tank is focusing more on having both Tamim and Mushfiq for the three-match ODI series against the host nation, as the matches are part of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League.
