Former Sri Lanka spinner Rangana Herath and South Africa batsman Ashwell Prince have been appointed as Bangladesh national team’s consultants for spin bowling and batting respectively.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board announced the appointments Saturday.
Former Sri Lanka Test captain Herath will join the Bangladesh coaching team in Zimbabwe and will be in the role until the end of this year’s World T20I.

Prince has reached an agreement with the BCB to work only for the tour of Zimbabwe this year which involves one Test, a three-match ODI series that is part of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, and a three-match T20I series.
“We have appointed Prince as the batting coach for Zimbabwe series only. We will see his performance there and then decide on a long-term contract. As spin bowling coach we have Herath till the World T20I. We will decide on a long term plan with him too based on the experience,” said BCB cricket operations committee chairman Akram Khan to the media.
Herath, 43, replacing former New Zealand spinner Daniel Vettori in the position, holds the title as the most successful left-arm spinner in the history of Test cricket with 433 wickets.

Herath is an International Cricket Council/Sri Lanka Cricket Level 3 coach specializing in spin bowling.
Left-handed batsman Prince has played 119 international games for South Africa in three formats.
The 44-year old is also a Level 3 coach who has worked as the batting consultant for South Africa A team, and had also been the A side’s interim head coach.
