Bangladesh national team cricketer Mehedi Hasan Miraz and experienced campaigner Jahurul Islam helped Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity clinch their first win of the ongoing Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League Twenty20 Friday.
Khelaghar chased down Legend of Rupganj’s total to win by seven wickets at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in their third match of the league, while Shinepukur Cricket Club and Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club won their respective matches at the same venue.
In the last match of the day, Doleshwar posted 144/6 thanks to combined efforts of the batsmen before their bowlers bundled Gazi out for 108 in 18.5 overs to earn a 36-run victory.
Fazle Mahmud of Doleshwar scored highest 39, while Saif Hasan and Shamim Hossain made 37 and 25 respectively.
Ariful Haque scored 37 during the awful innings of Gazi while man of the match Shamim, Sharifullah and Enamul Haque Jr got two wickets apiece for Doleshwar.
With the win, Doleshwar are now on top of the table with five points from three matches, while Gazi have just two points from equal number of matches.
