Brothers Union pacer Alauddin Babu picked up a hat-trick, and career-best figure in the format, before a blazing knock from Mizanur Rahman guided the side to an eight-wicket win against Legends of Rupganj in the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League Twenty20 at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Thursday.
Batting first, Rupganj could score only 111 runs before losing all of their wickets in 20 overs.
Rupganj captain Naeem Islam topped the innings with 38 as Alauddin hit the record books.
Alauddin started the game removing Rupganj opener Azmir Ahmed in the very first over of the innings.
In the last two deliveries of the 18th over, the right-arm pacer removed Muktar Ali and Sohag Gazi, and came back to get Nabil Samad in the first ball of the final over of the innings to claim his hat-trick.
Alauddin finished with career-best T20 figure of four for 21 in 3.1 overs.
Chasing the small target, Brothers captain and opener Mizanur thrashed the opposition bowlers with a 52-ball 74.
The fiery innings involved eight boundaries and three sixes and boosted Brothers to finish the chase with 27 balls to spare.
