Update : 03 Jun 2021, 12:23 AM

The Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League Twenty20 resumed after a one-day forced break due to inclement weather as three matches took place in Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Wednesday.

Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club, Gazi Group Cricketers and Prime Bank Cricket Club came out as winners in their respective games.

Prime Bank managed to clinch a tense win in a low-scoring encounter as they were victorious by three wickets chasing 120 with three balls to spare.

In pursuit of 120, Prime Bank were on course on 61 for one in the eighth over with Tamim Iqbal unbeaten on 32.

But in the fourth ball of the eighth over, Tamim got run out after a mix up with Rony Talukdar and just a few balls later, Mohammad Mithun also got out in similar fashion.

From 61 for one, Prime Bank suddenly faced a batting collapse and were reduced to 75 for six in 12 overs.

But the experienced Raqibul Hasan held his nerve from one end and scored an unbeaten 18 off 34 deliveries.

With Raqibul solid at one end, two tail-ender batsmen Shariful Islam (12) and Nayeem Hasan (18 not out) scored valuable runs in the late stage of the innings to achieve the target for Prime Bank with three balls to spare.

Earlier, Shinepukur Cricket Club posted a moderate 119 in their 20 overs as captain Towhid Hridoy was the top-scorer with 29.

Nayeem took three wickets for Prime Bank conceding 24 runs in his quota of four overs.
