Bangladesh batter Nigar Sultana Jyoti scored an unbeaten century to help her side Bangladesh Emerging Team to victory by seven wickets in their second one-day match against visiting South Africa Emerging Tuesday at Sylhet International Stadium.

With the win, Bangladesh Emerging, mostly comprising the national team players, took a 2-0 lead in the five-match series by utilizing their advantage of age and experience over the young touring side.

However, while chasing the moderate total of 197, the hosts lost both their openers within 38 runs but two senior players Farzana Haque and skipper Nigar added 44 for the third wicket before Nigar formed an unbeaten 115-run fourth wicket stand with the experienced Rumana Ahmed.

Nigar came to the crease at the fall of opener Shamima Sultana's wicket and she looked confident from the beginning as she struck 11 boundaries in her well paced innings of 135 balls.

Rumana gave great support as she remained not out on 45 off 69 deliveries with the aid of four fours.

Earlier in the day, after winning the toss, South Africa Emerging openers made a good start as the duo compiled 57.

But, after the initial breakthrough the home side picked up wickets in regular intervals and the lone fight of opener Andre Steyn, who scored 80 off 111 balls, went in vain.
