Khulna and Dhaka won their respective matches in tier one, while Chittagong and Dhaka Metropolis made winning start in tier two in the first round matches around the country Thursday.
Tier 1
Dhaka v Rangpur
Dhaka set Rangpur a target of 264 runs on day three and Rangpur started day four on 35 for the loss of two wickets.
Chasing the target, Rangpur managed to score 183 losing all of their wickets and thus, Dhaka won the match by 80 runs.
Dhaka's Nazmul Islam Apu was superb with his left-arm spin as he took six wickets in the second innings to wrap up Rangpur’s innings.
Apu bowled almost 40 overs and conceded 64 runs for his six-for, and was later adjudged man of the match for his brilliant effort.
Rangpur captain Naeem Islam was the top-scorer for his team with 61, while Akbar Ali scored 28.
Nasir Hossain, the centurion in the first innings, scored 16 in the second innings and got out against off-spinner Saif Hasan.
Rangpur’s Nasir Hossain and Dhaka Metropolis' Shahidul Islam scored centuries on day three of the ongoing National Cricket League as the latter, Chittagong and Khulna are in the driving seat ahead of day four.

Khulna v Sylhet
After day three, Sylhet had a lead of nine runs with five wickets in hand against Khulna.
Eventually, Sylhet managed to add 59 more to their lead as they were all out for 308 in the second innings.
Zakir Hasan, who was unbeaten on 118 on day three, was the highest scorer for Sylhet as he finished his innings with 140 runs.
Khulna needed just 68 to win the game and they achieved it losing just two wickets.
Opener Imranuzzaman was unbeaten on 33 in pursuit of the chase.
Sylhet's Zakir was adjudged man-of-the-match for his valiant effort of 140 in the second innings, which kept Sylhet in the match for a while.
Shahadat Hossain, Marshall Ayub and Nasir Hossain were in the limelight with the bat on day two of round one of the ongoing Bangabandhu 22nd National Cricket League.

Tier 2
Chittagong v Rajshahi
Rajshahi required another 136 to win the game as they finished day three on 147 for five chasing 283.
But Rajshahi were all out for 194 and hence Chittagong won the match by 88 runs.
Mehedi Hasan Rana took four wickets for Chittagong, while Ifran Hossain bagged three.
Mehedi also notched three wickets in the first innings and scored a vital 55 in the lower middle-order.
His all-round performance earned him the player-of-the-match award.
Top-order batsman Saif Hasan lit up the first day of the first round of the National Cricket League 2021 season with a century for Dhaka as veteran Tushar Imran was unfortunate to get run out on 99 for Khulna.

Barisal v Dhaka
Barisal finished the day on 177/7 and only had a five-run lead ahead of day four.
Eventually they managed to give only 37-run target to Dhaka Metro which they chased down for the loss of two wickets.
Dhaka Metro's Shahidul Islam, who scored a brilliant century in the first innings, was adjudged man-of-the-match for his all-round performance.
