Bangladesh team practiced outside for the first time in their tour of New Zealand as players took part in fielding sessions, followed by short sessions on batting-bowling and fitness sessions at Lincoln Green, Christchurch Thursday.
The Tigers stayed inside their hotel rooms for the first seven days as part of the quarantine rules after landing in Christchurch on February 24.
Later they underwent three rounds of Covid- 19 testing and all the results came out as negative.
Finally, Bangladesh team players started practicing in the day light.
Bangladesh players were divided in small groups and took part in separate practice sessions Thursday.
They are still inside the bio-secured bubble in practice and will have these kind of sessions, where they are divided into a few groups, for the next five days.
After that, the full team will start training in Queenstown.
The Bangladesh cricket team on tour of New Zealand have finally been able to get down to some activities after all members of the unit tested negative of Covid-19.

"We have started with fielding sessions along with short catching and high catching in practice because there are different factors regarding different conditions and the wind here. So we started our practice with catching and fielding session to adapt to the conditions as soon as possible. We also did batting and bowling in short sessions after that,” all-rounder Saifuddin said in a video message to the BCB after training Thursday.
“Later we underwent a fitness training session at the end, since we haven't been able to do too much fitness training in the last seven days. We also did running according to the trainer's instructions."
The first ODI between Bangladesh and hosts New Zealand will be played at University of Otago Oval, Dunedin on March 20.
The second ODI will be played at Hagley Oval, Christchurch on March 23 and the third will be held at Basin Reserve, Wellington on March 26.
"There obviously are expectations because we are a very good team in ODIs. So if we can all play our best, if the day is ours, then, of course, the result will be in our favor. Besides, there is also the T20 series. We have not been able to win any matches in New Zealand so far. But we will try to return to our country with some good results in this series," concluded Saifuddin.
The three-match T20 series will be played in Hamilton, Napier and Auckland respectively on March 28, 30 and April 1.
