WI beat Bangladesh by 17 runs, sweep series 2-0

The West Indies beat Bangladesh by 17 runs in the second Test to make a clean sweep of the two-Test series in Mirpur Sunday.

On day four, all the Bangladesh batsmen reached double digit with the exception of Taijul Islam and Abu Jayed, but the Windies bowlers struck at regular intervals to end the tour on a bright note after winning the first Test by three wickets.

Earlier, the Windies were all out for 117 in their second innings, thus giving Bangladesh a 231-run target in the second and final Test match.

Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam took four wickets while off-spinner Nayeem Hasan bagged three.

Right-handed batsman Nkrumah Bonner was the highest scorer for the Windies with 38.

Bangladesh 296 & 213 in 61.3 overs (Miraz 31, Cornwall 4/105) lost to the West Indies 409 & 117 in 52.5 overs (Taijul 4/36, Nayeem 3/34) by 17 runs
