Ace all-rounder Shakib al Hasan regained top position in the ODI all-rounders' ranking as the latest International Cricket Council ranking revealed the Bangladeshi leading the list by a substantial margin.
Shakib, who was banned for a year for failing to report multiple fixing approaches by a listed bookie, was omitted from the list during his suspension period but returned there as soon as the ban was uplifted on October 29.
ICC Wednesday updated and published the ranking where Shakib held the pole position with 373 ratting points, 72 more than the second placed Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi.
Although Shakib was banned for a lengthy period of time he did not miss much international cricket, as most of the other sports are stalled due to the Covid-19 pandemic throughout 2020.
Shakib, who had 394 rating points after a stellar show in 2019 World Cup in England, lost 21 points since his last presence in the list but others failed to catch him as they did not have much opportunity during the pandemic.
The Magura lad narrowly missed out on the player of the tournament award in the 2019 World Cup after scoring 606 runs in eight matches, and taking 11 wickets.
The 33-year old has played 206 ODIs so far, scoring 6,323 runs and totalling 260 wickets, the fastest cricketer in history to score more than 6,000 runs and take more than 250 wickets.
