Mustafizur still trying to improve

Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman is undoubtedly one of the vital components of the side’s pace attack. The 21-year old from Satkhira, coming off a lengthy injury layoff, has not been able to shine to the level he is expected of. With only one wicket in three matches at the cost of 130 runs in 23 overs, Mustafizur has failed to make a major impact in the English conditions where the ball does not grip much. “There is no end to learning. My cutters work better at home but the condition here is different and it is not working like usual. But I am still trying to better it,” Mustafizur told the media in Birmingham on Monday. Bangladesh are now eagerly waiting for their maiden semi-final appearance in an ICC event when they take on India at Edgbaston on Thursday. Mustafizur informed that the team are excited for the game and said they are expecting a good outcome. “It has been team effort that has put us in the semi-finals. All the players tried to play their role accordingly to push the team forward. We are excited and looking forward to the game against India, to be honest. Hope we will get to achieve something good from that game,” said Mustafizur. The Bangladesh pacer believes their pace attack in the shape of Mashrafe bin Mortaza, Rubel Hossain and Taskin Ahmed will be affective against the formidable Indian batting line-up. “We believe we have a good pace bowling attack to put competition against the India batting line-up. Hopefully everyone will contribute on the day,” said the left-arm pacer.
